Clean Cooking is the latest concept of serial entrepreneur, award winning publisher, and food and wine writer, Jan Walsh. And she defines it as her "calling" for 2026.
Clean Cooking brings together a community of home cooks who aspire to cook healthy, nourishing meals. Here they find Jan's family recipes, her library of healthy chef recipes (developed and shared for her columns and websites for 20 years by celebrity and local chefs), as well as her recommendations for safe food products and cooking essentials.
Clean Cooking also teaches home cooks how to evaluate what is in your kitchen and how to replace unhealthy foods, products, and materials with natural and organic options. And they may subscribe for free to Clean Cooking's monthly newsletter, "Clean Eats."
Jan has been a food and wine writer since 2006. She launched her award winning BirminghamRestaurants.com in 2007, which was the model for her award winning doctors and lawyers websites. Yet her passion has always been food. In 2023 Jan started launched CulinaryCartoons.com and her own SubStack, which is found at BirminghamFoodies.com. Both continue her organic byline. The monthly column led to her loyal readers and food professionals asking her advice on micro plastics, seed oils, and GMOs and how to purge them from their home kitchens. And her answers have led to changes in restaurant kitchens and packaging changes of local products.
